Meals on Wheels Wheel-a-thon

Come join [ithaca Forward] as we support Foodnet's fifth annual Wheel-a-thon Poker Run and Chicken Barbeque Fundraiser, Saturday September 16th at Cass Park to benefit Foodnet’s Meals on Wheels and Seniors Doing Lunch programs. It will be fun for the whole family and for only $10 you can listen to live music from the yardvarks, try out your hockey skills with the Cornell Women’s Hockey team or just enjoy a beautiful day on the Waterfront Trail. The Poker Run starts at 10 am , Walk-a-Thon starts at 11am, and the Chicken Barbeque will begin at 12pm. Plus 100% of what is raised goes directly to Foodnet. INHS TO HOLD USED OFFICE FURNITURE SALE

What a great way to get all your start up business furniture at a great price!

Thanks to the generosity of NeighborWorks® America which donated many of its furnishings to Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services after moving its district office from Ithaca to New York City, INHS has surplus office furniture. On Tuesday, September 26 from noon to 4:00 pm, INHS will hold a tent sale of numerous items ranging from desks and computer tables to file cabinets and office chairs. Prices will range from $10 to $40.

Area non-profit agencies are invited to stop by from 10:00 am until noon on the day of the sale to reserve items of interest. Terms of the sale are cash and carry. All purchases must be picked up by the end of the day on September 26.

syNYrgy 2006 - New York State's Young Professionals Conference is coming!

Beginning the evening of Friday, November 3rd, 2006, the first-of-it's-kind conference - syNYrgy 2006 - by and for young professionals across New York state will be hosted by Southern Tier Young Professionals in Binghamton.


This conference is the culmination of teamwork by many of the state's young professional organizations, and has a HUGE amount of events and activities for everyone to enjoy. Here is a rundown:

  • A live keynote speech by MICHAEL LAUNGANI, a finalist on NBC's "The Apprentice" last year!
  • Breakout sessions on personal planning, how to start a business, and how to have a successful young professionals group in your city!
  • A full dawn-till-dusk schedule of events (breakfasts, dinners, after-conference party, and more!)
  • Guided tours of downtown Binghamton's thriving Art Walk!
